Bone Biologist
Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
Baltimore, Maryland
The Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine are recruiting a highly trained and motivated candidate for a full-time assistant or associate professor position. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent and have research experience in one of the disciplines related to bone biology.
Through a new interdepartmental initiative between the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Department of Medicine, we have established the Integrated Center for Bone Health at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes. Our primary goal is to establish a comprehensive, integrated, translational center for bone research. While our primary focus will be the study of human bone disorders such as osteoporosis and osteonecrosis, our fundamental goal will be to accomplish this through a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms that apply to skeletal physiology in general.
Individuals conducting externally-funded, original research on the regulatory mechanisms of bone cells and other areas related to osteoporosis or osteonecrosis are encouraged to apply. The position will be provided with a startup package, including laboratory space and access to molecular and cellular core facilities of the Bayview Medical Campus of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Salary and appointment will be commensurate with qualifications.
Applicants should submit a CV, a statement of research interests, and names and addresses (fax/email included) of three references to Lynne C. Jones. Ph.D., Johns Hopkins Orthopaedics, Suite 201 GSH POB, 5601 Loch Raven Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21239. Please do not forward applications by email.
